According to Nate Hofelder whose “The Digital Reader” blog I follow with interest, the production of color 5.7 inch screen has been delayed again and will be in full production and included in devices by the middle of next year. And it is quite likely that this screen will not go into production, because at this size and after just 2 years, no one will be waiting for it.
Ten-inch tablet imposed by Apple, Android-based low-cost alternatives with LCD display and new $100 models with E-Ink display of Amazon and B&N did not leave any  market share for Mirasol devices.

“I can’t give you any solid new info besides confirmation that Mirasol should hit the market in Q2 of this year, but here’s something interesting.”

Now, it’s all a render, not a real device, so we’ll have to take the functionality with a pinch of salt. Still, the idea of a compact tablet with lengthy battery life and running Google’s OS is an appealing one. There’s also an accelerometer for automatic screen rotation, and a touchscreen interface.

Spotted in a new promotion video from Qualcomm, this slate sports a front-facing camera, four soft keys below the outdoor-friendly 5.7-inch size color display, and presumably a volume rocker plus a mute switch on the left.
