Great news for old Readius fans – the company Polymer Vision demonstrates in their site concept of a flexible color screen designed for smartphones.
For the moment, have shown only video demonstration of a prototype 6-inch, flexible SVGA screen with resolution of 800/600. This prototype resembles the testimony in 2008 eInk flexible color screen, and although new is larger size, the demonstration did not impress much.
The Czech-made $99 e-ink tablet NoteSlate that’s been designed to replace paper as a note-taking device now has a proper webpage that describes the tablet in complete detail.
The tablet packs a low power consumption 13″ (760 x 1080 px or 190 x 270 mm) monochrome display, 1-bit, 1 touch with pen, without antialiasing. It also has a SD card reader, 3.5mm audio jack, mini USB port and Wi-Fi. The tablet’s battery life is rated at 180 hours. NotesLate is operated by own Linux-based Firmware.
